OUR STORY

Humble beginnings

2013: The beginning

Restomod Mustangs as a business was born from my passion for classic American cars at an early age. I was just 18 years old when I obtained my first classic car, a 1966 Ford Mustang back in 2013. That simple, inline six-powered red Mustang set everything in motion for what would eventually become War Horse Industries. I spent countless late nights and long weekends wrenching on that car, and through that process, I fell in love with the Mustang platform. From swapping out the original wheels to adding stripes, I was chasing a vision of what that car could be. That challenge to take something simple and turn it into something special is what sparked everything. That same vision of building the perfect Mustang is what continues to drive me forward every day.

The beginning of something great

2015: Forging our path

After that first red coupe, it became a revolving door for Mustangs. I fell in love with the process, taking a rough, overlooked car that was someone's pride and joy of yesteryear, and turning it into something someone could be proud to drive again. What started as a single build quickly grew into multiple builds, each one pushing further than the last. This was the foundation of War Horse Industries. I didn’t learn by watching from the sidelines. I learned by doing. By getting my hands dirty, making mistakes, and figuring out what worked through experience. The hours, the setbacks, the wins, that’s what built the skillset we rely on today.

branching out

2017: daring to be different

Every build-up to this point had its own identity, but I knew it was time to raise the bar. That push led to the first two widebody Mustangs we ever built. Inspired by the aggressive styling of Trans Am-era race cars, the first War Horse Industries widebody Mustang debuted in 2017. It featured a full Coyote swap, a T56 transmission, and a modern coilover suspension system. This wasn’t just another build—it was a turning point. It marked the beginning of the widebody restomod Mustangs that have now become a signature of our brand.

2019: finding our groove

The move to widebody Ford Mustang builds changed everything. Not only did it give the cars a more aggressive, unmistakable look, but it unlocked performance that traditional narrow-body Mustangs simply couldn’t achieve. With flared fenders, we were able to run up to a 315 tire on all four corners, something unheard of on these cars. That square setup transformed the driving experience.

What was once a floaty, unpredictable classic became a planted, responsive performance machine. The combination of modern suspension and real tires made these cars feel completely different, more connected, more capable, and far more exciting to drive. The response from the classic car community was immediate. These cars weren’t just getting attention; they were selling fast. In many cases, within a week of being listed. This was the moment Restomod Mustangs truly established itself within the Mustang community.

Constantly innovating

2022: chasing excellence

Fast forward just to just 8 years later, and Restomod Mustangs has continued to push the limits of what a classic Mustang can be. With years of R&D and real-world testing behind us, we’ve refined our builds into something we’re confident calling world-class. Every component, every setup, every detail has been tested and proven to deliver the performance and reliability our customers expect.

And we’re not slowing down.

We’ve expanded our build options, refined our processes, and are actively developing new models that will take things even further. What started as a personal passion has grown into something much bigger, but the goal remains the same: to build cars that exceed expectations and bring automotive dreams to life.
